This summer I'm working on returning to more a healthy lifestyle of exercise, wholesome foods, and natural skincare. My skin isn't bad at all, but the last year of terrible, greasy cafeteria food, stress, and little nutrients has left my pale skin wanting more.
So, do you have any natural skincare secrets? I've been wanting to try an apple cider vinegar concoction(which I read about here and here) and try my hand at making my own beet blush. I talked in this post about drinking water more and I'm wanting to turn into a lifestyle thing.
When I went through a phase of borrowing ever Real Simple magazine from the library when I was 13(I was kind of a weird kid, okay?), I read about mixing olive oil and sugar together for a homemade scrub. It's one of my favorite things to do. I just proportion the olive oil and sugar together until it gets to a good scrub consistency, scrub it all over my skin(not my face), and then use bar soap to wash some of the olive oil off my skin. I also love to mix to mix honey and sugar for a tasty, natural lip scrub.
(For my non-natural skincare regimen, I use the Mary Kay Velocity face wash and lightweight moisturizer and then the Mary Kay acne gel. I've been using it since I was 12 and really like it. The moisturizer is the best I've ever used. Super lightweight, but works awesome for my oily, but randomly patchy dry skin).
Have you ever tried the apple cider thing? What natural skincare secrets do you swear by?
