I was thinking it was time for another fashion faux pas post! I'm all about breaking fashion "rules" and I love seeing how other stylish bloggers dispute these silly ideas.
Kyla's Faux Pas: Overaccesorizing
Pencil skirt, t-shirt, costume pearl necklaces: Thrifted
Cameo collection: Vintage
Headband, rings, opaque glass triple strand necklace: Gifts + collected over the years
Shoes: Aldo
Fashion Faux Pas: Socks & Sandals
I was at a loss of what to attempt, so I asked my ever generous friends what they thought I should rock. My friend Rachel suggested socks and sandals, so I gave my own twist. I've seen a lot of the whole, socks & heels/socks and dressy shoes and never knew if I could pull it off... so I matched it with a fail-safe, go-to outfit of mine (the dress and blazer).
I think this definitely works, its quirky-cute and dressy without being over the top.
Dress: Goodwill
Blazer: Target
Shoes: Goodwill
Socks: Gift
Fashion Faux Pas: Undies on the Outside
Today the temperatures are in the 40's, and it's raining outside. But that hasn't kept me from planning my Spring and Summer wardrobe! One of the ideas I have in store is to keep cool by wearing pretty, lacy undies on the outside. Fashion faux pas? Not when done right!
This idea can be translated into a classy outfit by layering multiple slips with skirts, or you can find some vintage Victorian undergarments, like I did, and pair then with the garment of your choice.Easy peasy! And pretty, too.
Blouse: Antique Victorian camisole cover
Skirt: Thrifted
Hat: 1980s vintage (from The Hidden Pearl)
Shoes: Urban Outfitters '10
Fashion Faux Pas: Too-Short Pants
I wanted to capture that awkward length between hemmed pants and suitable capris. So fun!
Sweater: Thrifted
Belt: Forever21
Jeans: Thrifted/Old Navy
Shoes: Thrifted
Lipstick: NARS in Red Lizard
I got these shoes for a dollar at Goodwill and I adore them!
Thanks to the lovely ladies who participated! :)
